Responsible AI

How should you evaluate an AI career assistant?

Check the quality of the reasoning and the boundaries—not just how confidently it answers.

An AI career assistant can help organise questions, compare options and prepare next steps. It can also make errors, misunderstand context or present outdated information as current. Evaluate it as decision support, not as an authority that knows your future. These checks are useful whether you use ACOSYSTEM or another tool.

Context: what information did it use?

Check which profile details, goals or documents the assistant used. Ask it to identify missing information and explain what could materially change its answer. Do not assume that stored chat history means every past detail is automatically available in a new session; memory and retrieval depend on the actual implementation and settings.

Evidence: can you verify the important claims?

For a role-fit suggestion, compare the explanation with actual job descriptions and your work evidence. For hiring demand, salaries, regulations or employer-specific requirements, ask for dated, attributable sources and verify them independently. If the assistant cannot establish a current fact, it should say so rather than inventing a source or number.

Uncertainty: does it show alternatives?

A useful answer distinguishes facts, assumptions, estimates and preferences. Ask for two or three plausible options, the trade-offs of each and the evidence needed to choose between them. Be cautious when an assistant offers a highly precise score without explaining its inputs, limitations or calibration.

Privacy: what happens to your information?

Review the product's privacy policy, data retention, processors, deletion controls and permissions before providing resumes, compensation details, health information, confidential employer material or candidate records. Share only what is needed. Do not upload third-party information unless you are authorised to do so.

Action: what happens without your approval?

Check whether the assistant only drafts or recommends, or can actually submit applications, contact people, change records or trigger paid actions. High-impact actions should have clear user intent, appropriate confirmation and a record of what happened. Recruiters should retain human oversight of screening and hiring decisions.

A five-minute test

  • Give a clear goal and ask which assumptions remain uncertain.
  • Ask it to compare two options against the same stated priorities.
  • Ask what evidence would contradict its recommendation.
  • Verify any current market claim against an attributable source.
  • Check privacy and memory settings before adding sensitive context.
  • Review an output before using it in a career or hiring decision.

ACOSYSTEM's published boundary

ACOSYSTEM describes Aco's Helper as a contextual career guidance layer within Aco's Employment. Exact memory, retrieval and feature availability depend on the current release. AI guidance supports user reasoning; it is not a guarantee of employment and should not silently replace human decisions.
